Whisker; NaPoWriMo Day Six
WHISKER
Today I found a whisker
Lying on the floor
A reminder of the fact
You're not here anymore
I still can't wash your blanket
I suspect I never will
Your passing made an empty place
Nothing can ever fill
I know you're safe and happy
In your rainbow happy place
But I'd give all I owned
Just to see your face
The mornings are now too quiet
With the absence of your purr
The laundry's just too tidy
With the absence of your fur
You know I loved you dearly
A better friend I've never had
You brought me boundless love and joy
For that I'm forever glad
Enjoy your days of freedom
No more suffering or pain
When I cross over and call your name
We'll be together again.
Dedicated to all the kittehs who have crossed over the Rainbow Bridge, and to the owners who love them.

The Affair; NaPoWriMo Day Two
THE AFFAIR
One un-played message
One missed call
Whatever you have said
I'm sure says it all
Don't know if I should should listen
Or let it go un-played
It breaks my heart to hear your voice
No matter what you say
I'm sure it's some apology
Asking if I'm still mad
Either way I'm finished
This affair just makes me sad
Of course I'll always love you
We shared some special times
Our lives go back through decades
Forever intertwined
So now I'll call my voice mail
The great mystery I will reveal
I'll listen to your stolen words
As you whisper how you feel
Just like the love I'm feeling
This poem has no end
I dial the voicemail number
And with a tear I press send
One un-played message
One missed call
Whatever you have said
I'm sure says it all
Don't know if I should should listen
Or let it go un-played
It breaks my heart to hear your voice
No matter what you say
I'm sure it's some apology
Asking if I'm still mad
Either way I'm finished
This affair just makes me sad
Of course I'll always love you
We shared some special times
Our lives go back through decades
Forever intertwined
So now I'll call my voice mail
The great mystery I will reveal
I'll listen to your stolen words
As you whisper how you feel
Just like the love I'm feeling
This poem has no end
I dial the voicemail number
And with a tear I press send
